The moderation policy changes at Meta are deeply troubling and should be a concern to anyone with a conscience. While the fediverse is a decentralized platform where different service providers have different moderation policies, at mastodon.social, hate speech is prohibited, and we will take action on any Threads account found violating our policies. I would strongly urge anyone with a Threads account to reconsider their alignment with the new direction at Meta and move to Mastodon instead.

昨日のザッカーバーグの意見表明には、metaが今まで抑制してきたfacebookとInstagramの政治的コンテンツの抑制を解除するというものも含まれていたらしい。
Threadsも追従するとのこと。

metaのSNSで政治が不可視化されていた弊害は大きかったけど（何が政治か決めるのがmetaというのが最大の弊害だった）、Xのような炎上と距離を置いていたことに救いを見出していた人もいるんぎゃないかな。

As per @zuck’s post yesterday about free expression yesterday, starting this week in the US, and rolling out over the coming week to the rest of the world, we’re going to be adding political content to recommendations on @Threads and adjusting the political content control to three options: less, standard, the default, and more.

Earlier, I approved Governor Newsom’s request for a major disaster declaration and ordered Federal assistance to supplement response efforts in areas affected by the wildfires.

This ensures impacted communities and survivors have immediate access to critical funds and resources to jumpstart their recovery.

I've just received a briefing from FEMA Administrator Criswell and my Homeland Security Advisor, Liz Sherwood-Randall, on the latest around our federal response to the wildfires across Los Angeles.

Southern California, we are with you. And we're not letting up.

I have directed the Department of Defense to rapidly provide additional firefighting personnel and capabilities to the region being impacted by the Southern California wildfires.

We also continue to work closely with the National Guard.

My thanks to the California National Guard and the Nevada National Guard for readying Airborne Firefighting Systems.

Ten Navy helicopters with water delivery buckets are on their way.
