Went down to Wakayama for a short 3 day vacation at a nice little ryokan. Looking forward to a weekend of doing nothing but relaxing and taking photos!

well, somehow twitter has gotten even *worse* and with tweetdeck, the only interface with an ounce of usability, going behind a paywall, I guess I'll be back to mastodon again!

Not all #Sega locations are getting the GiGO rebranding. Sega World Matsubara will be closing in a couple weeks, at the end of November 2022. Let's give it a final visit and get some photos.

I mean, of course we are all fans of our game center sit down video games cabinets, and I use the word "garbage" for stuff like prize machines, but amusement spaces have always been multiformat miniature theme parks. I'm actually really happy this Tecmopia is busy, full of kids and parents having fun. As it should be.

The UFO machine selection is interesting at least. Some Namco, lots of KNT. A couple (very recent) Sega machines. Most places have generations old Sega catchers, including at Sega game centers themselves.

As expected, it's all medal/prize/kids ride garbage. But it has a really fun and lively atmosphere. There is a neat Monster Farm bounce house in the kids area.

Missed opportunity by not calling their medals TECMONEY.

Anyway, enough about the sad state of Sega game centers, today I'll look at the sad state of Tecmo game centers! This is the only TECMOPIA in the Kinki region. Let's check it out.

(I say sad state, but it's actually super busy. I have made the fatal mistake of coming here on a weekend.)
