Made a #zine today about something that's been a going thing for quite a few weeks/months, even before the "I would like to make this" phase --
It's about a tiny raspberry bush at a bus stop, and how it's gotten me thinking.

#WomensEpics that need an English translation ASAP, round two:
- Catakantaravanan: a Tamil epic that elaborates on the Ramayana, but in this story, it is Sita who fights a demon king
- Matabagka Seeks the Deity of the Wind: epic from the Philippines about a girl's heroic journey (this one has an English translation, but only in a thesis manuscript in the UP library)
With a little shudder, followed by an even larger shiver, Tavi closed the thick old book he'd pulled from a high shelf and pledged quietly to never open it again.

Despite the time of day and her need to get to the capital before nightfall, Brooke stopped to look at the little shaded stall set up beside the road.
Its owner was nowhere to be seen, but there was a little honor box with a sign that suggested payment be prompt and in full.
Brooke looked over the goods, debating. She didn't need the stardust or the moon water, nor did she need that much mint ever.
Whatever was in the old pickle jar also clearly wasn't for her, but Brooke didn't mind.
She dropped a coin in the box; she'd needed the break.

This is from 2021--while watching #Eurovision a buddy commented that the Italian bassist for Måneskin reminded him of (a darker) Mylene, so...I figured I'd use that as a warm-up at the time 😂 Tis why this is a very rough sketch. But I really liked doing it, and folks at the time did too. Plus, my buddy was happy

Everything was done, for the moment. Bay sat on a bench down by the water, waiting and wondering what would come next.
For an existence like Bay's, the next thing to be done might be in an hour or a month or a decade.
Bay had time.
Ducks swam along, against the current, and a flock of gulls yelled a short distance away in obvious disagreement over the snacks they'd found.
A lone dove landed at the other end of the bench and Bay considered it for a long moment.
When a car drove by, not long after, two doves flew away in opposite directions.
