@tomouchi00011 I feel the contrary… Inbound-wise, I don’t get happy birthday's from many people, which I don’t like; outbound-wise, before I got banned off Facebook, I actually had everyone's bdays exported to .ics (with a browser extension), and for those I could contact, I do wish them happy birthday (though “everyone" includes people I’ve met from “only once" to “regularly”). It’s rare to directly ask for bdays here unless it’s a very close friend, but my social circumstances are different…
@tomouchi00011 Nah, culture-wise it's similar (and I do occasionally give gifts), just that my personal circumstances are a bit different (I don't do/attend parties, and I wouldn't say I have many "close friends"). But it's true (and sad) that more and more relationships can only be sustained online.
