@gaby Back in the early 80s, Paul Hogan made an TV ad for Tourism Australia in which he said the line "throw another shrimp on the barbie" (instead of "prawn") so that American viewers would understand. To this day, "throw another shrimp on the barbie" is associated with being Aussie even though we don't say "shrimp"!
@terrywallwork @korenani Well, I sometimes drink Fosters but don't watch Neighbours...(you need to add "u" in Australian!).
@terrywallwork @korenani Really?
@terrywallwork @korenani Are you from Australia, Terry-san?
@terrywallwork @korenani Wow...I didn't know that. I prefer "Midsomer Murders" to Neighbours or Home and Away, although I wonder why there are still people alive there with so many hundreds of murders.
@gaby @terrywallwork 座布団一枚!
The British do seem to love a good murder mystery (see also Poirot, Miss Marple, Inspector Morse etc.etc.).
@terrywallwork @korenani I haven't watched it! Checked it in Netflix, Prime Video, Apple TV and Disney+ (that I subscribed) but none of them have it....(only in Foxtel which I don't have)
