@caztcha i believe this was set up for an earlier version of https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#focus-appearance - note 1 still has a remnant of this as well with its "encloses"
@patrick_h_lauke @caztcha Yeah, it looks like someone forgot to update the definitions, they also sport the green borders for “new” stuff, which is usually not used in RECs, only in drafts.
@yatil @patrick_h_lauke Thank you so much for your comments. I am now working on WCAG 2.2 translation to Japanese, and I felt that the term "encloses" doesn't have to be translated. Is my understanding correct?
@yatil @caztcha added my comment about Note 1 there too, but doubt there's any appetite in amending the normative note... https://github.com/w3c/wcag/issues/3510#issuecomment-1907893616
@patrick_h_lauke @caztcha Notes are informative:
> sections marked as "non-normative", diagrams, examples, and notes are informative (non-normative)
https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/#interpreting-normative-requirements
@patrick_h_lauke @caztcha I mean, Understanding and Techniques are also informative, unless the Group decides they are not, so 🤷♂️
@yatil @caztcha anyway, late rejoinder... https://github.com/w3c/wcag/pull/3657
@patrick_h_lauke @caztcha Sorry for making you work :-(
@yatil @patrick_h_lauke Thank you, Eric! Yeah, I will also try to translate it.
@caztcha @patrick_h_lauke Good luck with the project! (We translated WCAG 2.1 to German and are looking into budget for 2.2.)
As long as there is no errata or a change to WCAG, I would translate it.
There was a discussion here and a change in the build to remove it, but no Errata added. I’ll leave a comment for Alastair to add it to the Errata. https://github.com/w3c/wcag/issues/3510
