I'm going to pretend that I was trying for an "intentional camera movement" shot and not that I was using a low shutter speed because it was almost dark and that I just got lucky and managed to pan with the Birds Eye whilst blurring the background and it's flapping wings. An interesting Sunday morning bird in the yard. Likely a hybrid Northern Red/Yellow-shafted Flicker. Black malar, gray crown, gray and brown face, reddish underwing and under tail feathers and no red nape crescent.
