@avillavecesn There is a very much successful Japanese strategy to be open to foreign culture while keeping their identity.
It was called 和魂漢才/和魂洋才
They applied it when they learned many things from China and Korea in ancient time; they applied it again when they learned many things extremely successfully from Europe almost two centuries ago. Unfortunately this model has got to be obsolete in the internationalization, and multilinguality of today's world. I think what I wrote in the previous toot is just an expression of this.

The Japanese language used on Japanese TV is simply wrong. So they may pretend to protect the Japanese language but actually they are destroying it. But I suppose this is not just a Japanese thing. #多言語

@sakaefchn A form of closedness... Strange. Maybe at some point they wanted to protect Japanese against English. However, it seems quite annoying, especially the dubbing.
