That time John williams invited Seiji on the stage (Ozawa is founder of the orchestra) and played imperial march from Star Wars for him.
For many Japanese classical music fans, that was the last appearance of the great maestro.
@petitnama I had the opportunity to hear one of Ozawa’s last concerts at Tanglewood before he left his post at the Boston Symphony— Salome by Richard Strauss. As a young musician, my first exposure to a Strauss opera. It was enlightening, and I’m glad I got to see it, and him.
