I just remembered, Search in Mastodon is "your tweets and the tweets you interacted with"... If you go searching for "topic x", you'll find nothing and might think it's never been mentioned!

This keeps surprising me.

Fedibird has implemented opt-in search public ranges. There are two types: follower-only and public.

We've also added the ability for searchers to specify how much public information they want to search. They can choose to search only for important information, or search a wide range of information, even if there is a lot of noise.

ive spoken to the big G about that. It's definitely my preference. Opt in full text search.
