I've read "When We Cease to Understand the World" by Benjamín Labatut.

I have mixed feelings about too much fictionalizing recent real people, but at the same time, I'm overwhelmed by how Labatut interweaves historical facts and imagination. It is horrifying to sense the duality that genius scientific discoveries possibly bring to unexpected destruction.

"How to Live Like a Monk" is a very entertaining book packed with historical facts about the Medieval monastic life and some wisdoms still applicable today.

I got the physical book because of its lovely design! (plus it contains a lot of images from illuminated manuscripts, etc.)

My mom kept these stamps in an old envelope.

Christmas set of 5 stamps, Haiti, issued in 1970. 3 stamps of the wonderful nativity scene by Haitian artist, Toussaint Auguste.

Other 2 shown Fort La Navidad (Fort Nativity) from a drawing by Christopher Columbus.

Columbus and his crew built it from the remains of the ship, the Santa Maria, which was wrecked on Dec. 24, 1942. The fort was destroyed by the native Taíno people in 1943.

The main focus of this title is the negative impacts on individuals and society given by social media, especially Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, and Twitter. I guess this is a must-read this year.
