I don't feel tired, but my brain keeps mixing Japanese readings into my Mandarin anki answers, and with tones?? 甲板, jia3ban3, but it became kan3ban3... I'm worried this is what's coming. I will just read things in a mixture forever and stop even realizing it. 😂
I've obviously had Japanese readings encroaching on Mandarin since the beginning, but usually the sneaky invaders don't include TONES.
@makochou101 Hmm, usually the tones don't come through, which is why this time surprised me. It's more often that I'll take my first look at a Mandarin word and my brain will try to read it in Japanese (no tones), but I will firmly remind myself that this is not Japanese and my brain will comply (or not, and then I fail the card). 😁 Apparently the Japanese-learning side of my brain is getting sneakier.
