イディオム「it would not do (it won't do/it will never do)」を新しく知った。
will の時制や not と never の入れ替わりによるバリエーションはあるけど、どれも「適切ではない」「よろしくない」という意味になる。

例文:
✍ It won't do to arrive late at such an important meeting. (そんな重要な会議に遅刻するのは許されない)
✍ It would not do to overdraw the significance of these echoes. (これらの [創作における] 影響の重要性を過大評価するのは適切ではないだろう)
