had some downtime this weekend after an exhausting move, so i tried to push myself to see the minimum time it would take for me to launch a whole (responsive) #website and it turns out just under 8 hours!
PANTSON is a #pixelart trading club/pixel clique for website & blog owners to adopt and claim colors while linking to each other! it's all just for fun!
the template is super easy, so this is a great way to get acquainted with pixel art or if you feel like you're a beginner and don't quite have the skills for other pixel clubs.
check it out if it sounds fun to you!

National Novel Writing Month defended the use of AI. Now authors are stepping down from its board
Writers are storming off the board of a popular literary non-profit that challenges participants to write a 50,000 word novel in a month after it issued a statement supporting some use of artificial intelligence. NaNoWriMo wrote on Monday that it doesn't explicitly condemn or endorse AI, and sugg...

Apropos of nothing, here's one of the most useful articles I've ever read on the internet, which is saying something. It absolutely blew my mind back when it was on Livejournal, and now I give it unto you (again). http://www.issendai.com/psychology/sick-systems.html
This is a proposal to expand the tried tl;dr standard for further usecases.
The authors propose
pw;dr - paywall; didn't read
ai;dr - ai, didn't read
This is a draft.
OK, this is a twist in the NaNoWriMo controversy I didn't see coming: apparently the "criticizing AI is classist/ableist" line was a bridge too far *even for the 'AI' company*.
wild how the internet archive gets their ass handed to them for violating copyright for trying to preserve works but when openai scrape every bit of text ever written and every youtube video for profit they get nothing
Carew the Mad leaned on his staff, more Mildly Annoyed than anything. It wasn't like he had expectations for anything arriving by a courier whose name he'd had to scry, but he'd been Vaguely Hopeful that he might receive his parcel less flattened than usual.
At least the bag of powered core-crystal hadn't leaked all over. That might've made him Angry. It hadn't been cheap.
Not that anything was cheap these days. That was something to be Mad about, he supposed.
But that was the way of the world and Carew the Mad had his parcel.
He was Happy.
writingmonth.org is a community organized alternative to #NaNoWriMo being built by @amin for this year!
I've never participated in a NaNo myself, but I'm strongly considering joining #WritingMonth following the continued erosion of the NaNo platform.
The cool thing about this event is isn't just for #novelists, the #poetrycommunity, #writingcommunity, and #bloggers are welcome too!
See you there!
A reminder from someone who’s been around the block more than a couple times: when you see a PDF or ePub on the Internet that you think you might want to read eventually, go ahead and download it, and squirrel it away for the future. The Internet is not, in fact, forever, and Capitalism will eventually take away anything it can’t rent out to you.
Can you boost this please? I'm sort of load-testing / trying to reproduce a bug, and I think I need a bit more traffic to do so. Thank you!
