- Petition to keep video games playable by forcing the publishers to NOT remove essential functions: 302.000 signatures in less than a month. [1]

For folks who like maintaining fandom wikis, consider migrating to or starting a wiki on miraheze or another non-profit or fan-friendly wiki platform!

Fandom dot com has tried to trademark the word fandom ( ), has known instances of deleting sections of legit user-submitted text for their internal goals, inserts countless ads all over the place, and ultimately profits off exploiting fan labor. Miraheze.org is run by volunteers and sustained by user donations just like many Fediverse instances. Miraheze allows you to host an ad-free wiki.

Wiki.gg was established in opposition to Fandom platform. It features ads, but most if not all are ads for the games partnered with indie game publisher Freedom Games, meaning the ad experience is a lot friendlier.

There are also options for self-hosting and participating in wiki alliances for those who would like to explore that route.

i have a plan.

i miss festivals. due to my health, covid, lack of money, and my location, i've been festival deprived for years, and i imagine that at least some of you feel the same way.

that's why i have made the eminently sensible decision to embark on a nebulous path to bring the kindling festival to life.🔥

it will be an entirely online festival, free to attend or on a sliding scale if we can't manage free. we'll have music and performances, craft demos (with advance lists of materials, so you can prepare and join in), cooking demos (same), recipes, workshops, talks, and whatever else we can think of. we'll also a have a curated showcase of artists and craftsfolk.

at the moment, i'm aiming for sometime in 2025.

and i need help! whether you want to participate, support us, or attend, please head over to our (newly created) discord server — kindling festival — to find out more.

(not that there's much to find out yet, but we'll get there. a website is currently under construction!)
