I really want to improve my English this year. Because on my recent trip to Vietnam, I needed to speak English in ALL SITUATIONS.

To be honest, I spoke very little English. I only spoke a few words. I could not speak in full sentences.

離れて暮らす親が朝から晩まで半径2メートル以内にいる生活をしていろんな発見と絶望があった。その最たるものはこの年齢のずっと主婦をしてきた女性というのは、本当に心から変化や改革は不要なもので、悪ですらあるんだと思ってるだということ。そして老いというものがそうさせるのもあるんだろうけど、自己効力感がめちゃくちゃに低くなってしまっているので、他人をとにかく批判する。ディスらなきゃ死ぬの？ってレベルで否定して馬鹿にする。それは偏に自分が「大丈夫」でいたいからなんだと思う。周りと比べて「私は大丈夫」という安堵を得たいがために、他人のちょっとしたミスをずーっと怒ってる。高齢だからわかんないこととか、できないことが多くなってるから、自尊心がぐんぐん下がってて、だからそのリベンジみたく自分の周りをとにかく「駄目ね〜！ほら駄目ね！」ってしてる。この層が最多有権者層なんだもんな……。とにかく自分が正しくて、変化とか変革とか難しいこと言ってくる人は不要だって精神。うちの母の性格とかもあるんだけど、なかなかしんどいものがあったな……。
