#fedibird Mastodon v4.0.2がリリースされ、誰もがハッシュタグをフォローできるようになりました。
Fedibirdも、本家より先行して、ハッシュタグをフォローする独自機能がありました。
ハッシュタグリレーは、Fedibirdが開発されるよりもさらに以前に作られた、ハッシュタグをサーバを超えて共有するために作られた連合リレーです。
このリレーは、ハッシュタグのついた投稿だけを対象に、登録サーバ間でその投稿を配送しあいます。
また、ハッシュタグをフォローしたい人に、その指定したハッシュタグ付きの投稿をブーストすることで配送する機能を併せ持っています。
たとえば #fedibird タグをつけた投稿をフォローしたい人がリレーに自分を登録すると、リレーが受け取った投稿をブーストしてその人に届けてくれます。
この時、ブーストが投稿者と同じサーバへ届くと『リレーがブーストした』という通知が行われます。
仕組みとしてはそういうものなのですが、
ついに本家でフォローできるようになりましたし、リレー機能はともかく、ブースト機能は役割を終えたかなと思います。
