Natural Compound Found in Popular Culinary Spice Equally Effective As Indigestion Drugs
A recent study reveals that curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, may be equally effective as the drug omeprazole in treating symptoms of indigestion, with significant symptom reductions observed in both treatment groups over a period of 28 to 56 days.

I've tried a bunch of curcumin supplements and turmeric extracts, but not for GERD. The one I that really stands out to me in terms of a noticeable effect on inflammation due to fibrocystic breast is actually a tea - Numi Golden Tonic - which is a combination of turmeric, lemon verbena and dried lime.
I've had really bad GERD & PPIs did not do anything for me. I'm glad I did not take them long term since they can inhibit PON1*, among other things. My first bout of GERD seemed to resolve after quitting the PPIs (and Rx H2 blockers which also did nothing for me) and drinking broccoli sprout smoothies daily. I used alka seltzer on really bad nights in the beginning, before the sprouts started to have an effect.
A few years later I had a second bout. Unfortunately I was not able to tolerate broccoli anymore (I've developed a lot of allergies and turmeric also can make me itch, unfortunately). I found relief from dried persimmon tea, which is often prepared with turmeric and ginger. I just made it plain.
