#Palestine / UN Security Council to vote Friday on Palestinian UN membership

[…] A council resolution needs at least nine votes in favor and no vetoes by the U.S., Britain, France, Russia or China to pass. Diplomats say the measure could have the support of up to 13 council members, which would force the U.S. to use its veto.

MK Ofer Cassif:

"Today it is clearer than ever: The U.S. is not part of the solution - it is part of the problem, if not the problem itself. Very encouraging was the broad consensus at the Security Council - 12 out of 15 countries in favor of admitting Palestine as a full member state to the UN, alongside two abstentions and opposition from the U.S. alone. Recognition now!"
