KMT is as bad as CCP, if not worse.
That being said, maybe things would have been very different. Unlike with the CCP, there was a long term goal for democracy in the KMT, maybe after the war and without the threat of communism, they would have been able to focus on the development of the country and doing what's best for the people. Maybe China would have a system similar to modern day Taiwan but much earlier than the 90s.
What do you wish had happened? Do you think overthrowing the monarchy was a good thing? Was there any hope for a stable democratic republic to come from the 1911 Revolution? What do you think of Sun Yat-sen?
It's interesting to imagine a different timeline, and I have read quite some novels about it. It's fun.
But they are just fantasies, no help to the clown world timeline we are living.
I am still optimistic about the future of China (and human), so I keep doing my part to make the world better.

That was true before Chiang Kai-shek; his son Chiang Ching-kuo was pressured by the US to do the right thing, otherwise we would be hardly any better than North Korea.

North Korea can't even keep the lights on at night and have hundreds of thousands of political prisoners in forced labor camps, his government might have been bad but it was not as bad as communism.

我得说有人憎恨洼地文化是因为其文化宣传自古以来就自带天朝上国那套蔑视周边的“优越感”。
什么“汉文化圈”“大中华”，从历史发明家梁启超胡编出“中华民族”和“四大发明”起，这对着东亚各国自封“我是你爹”的农逼文化就一直不受他人/邻国待见。
随后赤色暴徒破完四旧更是直接文化断代半世纪，以至于没了传承现在粉蛆硬是拿着寿衣当汉服到处碰瓷，庆丰年间宣传下的“支国文化”更是和赤色思想高度绑定，对其过敏那是必然结局。
至于反完赤匪又跑去西方建设社会主义进步神国，那属于典型的从小接受茅坑教育马列主义给潜移默化刻进dna了。
脱脂不脱味儿。
所以左棍那套换皮共产进步神学反而让这些不可燃乐色倍感亲切。
归根结底造成这种“有趣”现象的本质其实非常单纯：
反赤的乐色并不反赤色思想，而是觉得自己上台能“治理”得更好。
“王侯将相宁有种乎”可是2000年农逼秦制刻进东亚病夫dna里的传统文化，这种思维带来的结果就是皇帝轮流坐，大秦亡了秦制却活到了现在。
这些进步民逗斗了半天不过是在野赤匪在反当朝赤匪罢了。

话说回来，这种奇葩状态其实在台湾更加典型。
国民党是赤匪孝子不说了，民进党则认了西方左棍当自己野爹，什么言论审查取消文化lgtb至上进步神学洗脑课堂各种激进左棍政策玩得不亦说乎。
由于缺少真正的本土右派，搞得整个破岛就是个左棍茅坑，投蓝投绿都是投共。
