@IbuMichele There is a Japanese stew called 'chikuzen-ni'. If this is stewed in Japanese-style curry cubes, it becomes Japanese-style curry served at Japanese soba noodle restaurants. This was so delicious.

And the rice has barley in it!
The rice is soaked in water first and the barley is mixed in when it is cooked. After the rice is washed, it is soaked in water for 30 minutes and then drained for 20 minutes before cooking.
