Interesting article but the author knows pumpkin pie just about as much as the Japanese. Kabocha is never spiced, so most kabocha dishes are bland. I've been using kabocha for pumpkin pie since forever - canned pumpkin is expensive and hard to get - and it's wonderful. Just remember to spice up that kabocha.


Halloween decorations were being replaced by Xmas tinsel today in the local Doutor Coffee Shop. Thankfully (or not) the BGM was still Bacharach songs being slowly done to death rather than "Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer" going through the meat-grinder. So, the horror continues.
