Windows is so fucking Shit I fucking hate using it why is everything 10 times more convoluted when the OS is for low iq monkeys. It's like when you get bad grades in school for coming up with answers the teacher wasn't prepared for

Linux is for people who already know Linux. Windows just works
you sound like a macfag with that logic. Or a zoomer who grew up with an iphone
I spent 3 days last week working with TrueNas and proxmox coming from windows. These systems are garbage and online support is minimal or unhelpful. Linux users are a lot like redditors with their unearned smugness tbh. It’s a community problem. I get the buy in of being more in control of your OS, but there is no smooth entry and the community is fucking terrible.
it's not about smugness. I've worked in this field on both sides and windows constantly puts rocks in my way. You having skill issues isn't related to that.
I'm like this about any topic. If you like the wrong anime I won't be much nicer
It’s cool. I will probably switch to Linux this year due to Microsoft being gay. I won’t be happy about it though. I will just start to hate anyone who works on OS software in any capacity.
I'm not trying to blame people for failing at software autism but hosting software on windows doesn't make anything easier. Trust me
software compatibility is one big advantage of windows.
if you've got software from 20 years ago written for XP, that came on a CD and was never updated afterwards, odds are it's still gonna work today on a windows 11 machine thanks to the giant bloated mass of ancient libraries for backwards compatibility.
linux not so much. if it's a binary that old you might just be shit out of luck, but something source based might let you tard wrangle it into working after tracking down the 948534534523456 compiler errors.
God help you if you want to use anything python or nodejs on either OS, it will be mad about the version every time and will need virtualenv or the similar thing for node i can't remember.

True, but Linux + Wine has better compatibility than Windows 8~11.
Linux kernels don't break user space, while Windows upgrades often brick your machines automatically.

there is one case i can think of where windows updates broke machines and that only applied to windows server 2016 domain controllers on certain versions of vmware
there was that one time they pushed a stinky update that required a reinstall due to data corruption in rare cases on win10

Still better than the at least twice GRUB updates failed on me and soft bricked my machine
