Sometimes nothing inspires me to take photos when I’m out. Everything feels boring, uninteresting. This morning, I had to force myself to go outside, and surprisingly, it ended up being so much fun. It took me half an hour just to cover the first 200 meters. I kept noticing things that wanted to be composed and photographed. That doesn’t say much about the quality of the photos—I probably deleted 95% of them—but the process itself brought me so much joy. I took tons of photos of birds on and around power lines. As a reward, I got pooped on.

Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica) in northern Norway.

These colorful cute little auks are listed as vulnerable internationally on IUCN’s red list. Within Norway they’re endangered because their population has been halved during the last 3 generations.
