Today, we celebrate and honour fathers. It can be a joyful day, but it can also be a tough reminder of what is missing or reminding you of the complexities of family relationships. The struggles and the losses. Yesterday, I visited Dachau concentration camp memorial site by myself. Just one location, in an extensive list of camps, where my family suffered and was murdered.

My father never stopped seeking for answers to the evil that engulfed Europe so many times.
His life became a search of reasons behind human behaviour and the existence of good and evil in the world. Now 20 years after his death I feel I have taken over his journey and I had the strong feeling he held my hand yesterday.
Happy Father's Day. Wishing you a day of love and appreciation.

Mastodon showed me this post without the post before. My first impression: Photos taken on a Sunday afternoon walk, fair weather, nicely composed pictures … But where is this? No alt attributes … And then I clicked “Zeige Konversation" (My Mastodon is in German.) Blue and white skies. I should have recognized that.
