I got some reports from servers hosted with me that had jobs stuck in Sidekiq queue.

From my testing this is related to an old issue with Terrapin and will install a forked version that should fix it: https://github.com/mastohost/terrapin/commit/77deb17e04eb56cdda4ad6c02ed5757d1290e089

Also, YouTube is still acting up and presenting captchas when attempting to get the preview cards, so I have hardcoded the oEmbed link: https://github.com/mastohost/mastodon/commit/a4f38b8ed517aaa1326fecac38c031fa7426ed98

I will be installing those fixes and there will be a downtime of ~30 seconds.

I should read less Twitter and more Mastodon

I think I can sum up the primary difference between M & T's attitude: despair.

Mastodon's full of people who are eager and generative. They're mad about problems in the world and want to make them better; usually with work offered directly.

Twitter has many more of the angry and nihilistic side of things. Everything is bad, nothing can be fixed. All we can do is rage, and our last act of malice should be mutual destruction with our enemies.

You find those folks here too, of course (want to find one? Talk about Google as if it is not a spy organization that is specifically watching you masturbate right now), but in far fewer numbers and with far less of a stranglehold on the conversation.

Twitterの場合は利用規約で転載に同意するものとされてるからまとめサイトはアリなんだけど、Mastodonの利用規約（のデフォルト）にはそんなものはないので、無断転載だらけになってろくでもないなと思った。

So this is official,

I am no longer being able to take care properly of mastodon.host services and as promised when I started the service, asked other moderators to vet a replacement.

This is now official @href is going to take over mastodon.host hosting and funding, please thank him for stepping up and taking over.

I'll stay around as a moderator, and probably will migrate my main to an account on a at-home pleroma instance soon.

Thanks again @href for continuing when I can't anymore, and stepping up !
