きょう2月28日は、台湾現代史の痛点である228事件の日。
1995年に事件の記念碑が建てられた際、当時の李登輝総統が初めて、公式に謝罪した。
同年、李登輝総統と私が初めて会ったとき、「ぼくは228事件の被害者なんだよ。被害者なのに謝罪したんだよ」と声のトーンを上げて話をしていたことを思い出した。
日経文化面の「私の履歴書」、3月はJR九州相談役の唐池恒二さんだそう。十数年前、専務時代にお会いしたことがある。とてもおもしろい人だったが、その後社長となってJR九州をおもしろい会社にした。
