I've been living in Poland for years now, and for the life of me I will never understand the Polish love for pierogies.
It's not that they are bad, they just always seem boring, always underwhelming, and they always taste... I dunno, awkward. Like someone forgot to use salt and pepper on them.
My Polish colleagues love them though. Just on a company Christmas event and there's free pierogies, and where I forced myself to eat more than one I see people go for their third/fourth helping

I usually commit atrocities like dumping hot pepper paste on them or frying them up with veggies and teriyaki sauce.
