Weeeeeeee! JAXA's new #H3 launch vehicle shoots into the sky! Everything seems to be going well so far. The rocket is at 690km (higher than the International Space Station), moving at 4km/s.

Also, can we all admire the beauty of Japan's Tanegashima Space Center launch site?

I went through the novels that won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award (and that I liked), and I made a list of the authors that I want to read the most. The list ended up being quite long, but here are some of them:

- Jokichi Hikage (日影丈吉).
- Seicho Matsumoto (松本清張).
- Shoji Yuki (結城昌治).
- Tatsuo Shimizu (志水辰夫).
- Kenji Kosugi (小杉健治).
- Yoichi Funado (船戸与一).

I’m looking forward to place an order of physical books for Seicho Matsumoto! 📚

One of the many reasons I like #kdrama is its skill at telling a well-known story from world literature in new ways but always in utterly Korean forms.

Last year was the innovative Little Women.

Now Netflix has A Killer Paradox which is a slick reworking of Dostoyevsky’s Crime & Punishment thru Korea’s varied concepts of revenge, justice, filial duty and criminal punishment. Recommend.

This is lovely, I like the half English half Japanese lyrics. 😊

Tencent’s Three-Body, the 2023 Chinese adaptation of the novel The Three-Body Problem, is now available on Peacock in the US.

Netflix's rival is therefore offering these 30 episodes a month before the American version - 3 Body Problem (March 21) - arrives. 😈

Mighty seem weird that at least one reason I'm going to SYNCHRONICITY in Tokyo is to see a Chinese band (of course there's loads of other reasons too), but here we are. I won't complain if someone brings them to London 😁

Badlands Hunters is no Train to Busan, but as schlocky South Korean 'zombie' films go, it's ok.

Bonjour la France!
Mars Express, a French animated science-fiction film directed and co-written by Jérémie Périn, hits cinemas today.

Unfortunately, sci-fi films are rarely produced in France. This one is getting very good reviews, so we're backing it and buying our tickets!🔥

Mars Express will be released worldwide in 2024.

Liu Cixin's famous sci-fi novel, 'The Three-Body Problem,' is currently being adapted by Netflix. However, there is already an existing Chinese TV series available on Amazon. I've started watching it, and so far, it looks good.

Today I watched #TheWindRises , a beautiful animated biography of a Japanese aeronautical engineer in the years before #WWII . It was just a coincidence that it happened to be #PearlHarborDay .

It was a touching story with an amazing cast for the English-language version.

Interestingly, #EmilyBlunt plays the wife in The Wind Rises and in #Oppenheimer , providing both bookends for the war.
