QT;本論をやや外れるが、今回の著書をまとめながら改めて痛感されたのは、重要文献の翻訳が適切になされていないという研究上の不作為である。翻訳のない文献は、専門外や一般読者には読まれない。リンカーン、ロバート・オーウェン、さらにはウィリアム・ジェイムズについてすら、近代スピリチュアリズム、心霊研究関係の長短の文献がほぼ翻訳されていないのは、異常な事態と言わねばならない。

Improve, brush up, hone! 英語のお勉強。

Demons are horrible and pesky. But is my understanding incorrect that living human beings are as scary as them? War, physical violence, discrimination, sexual abuse, environmental pollution, and corruption of power... Anyway, this book is related to my research field. I'd like to know what they are and what they want to do. And if they exist, do "good beings" exist too???

Now I'm enjoying this book translated in Japanese, 'Demonic Foes: My Twenty-Five Years as a Psychiatrist Investigating Possessions, Diabolic Attacks, and the Paranormal' by Gallagher R. The various possession phenomena are surprising. I'm interested in the cultural difference in the appearance of possession phenomena. I haven't heard body torsion or speech in ancient Latin or Greek languages in Japan.
