@ArtStadlin @therobburgessshow I don’t think it matters where. What’s important is that those users and advertisers will not be using Twitter.

Without you, russian terrorists, even if that means being temporarily without electricity or water. Without you for good

@robynwho I’m not nervous because he’s basically creating Parler which won’t have enough advertisers to keep the lights on let alone pay his debts to Prince Bonesaw of Saudi Arabia.

"After Elon Musk bought the company and laid off half of its 7,500 full time employees, disinformation researchers and activists say, the team that took down toxic and fake content vanished. Now, after years of developing relationships within those teams, researchers say no one is responding to their reports of disinformation on the site, even as data suggests Twitter is becoming more toxic."

@jasonpettus I never adopted any of these. The Staasi would have loved them.

Mastodon is so strange.

Trying to find an instance that doesn't have some beef with others is a nightmare.

And also, nazis. Straight up nazis in our mentions right now.

May have been naive, but I thought this place would have less drama and nazis. Not more of the former and just as many of the latter.

I am actually scared to publish on here.

Getting around how this all works was easy. Navigating the inter-instance politics is a nightmare.

Help?

based on his previous management style & the fact he was fired from the only software company he was CEO of before… honestly think Hanlon’s Razor applies "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity." Though I suppose Clark’s Corollary does too… "any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice".

Apparently Twitter just gutted it’s sales & account management teams. You know, the teams that pull in & manage almost of their revenue via ads. Genius.
I ran some number for the subscription service…
To *simply just pay off the interest on their debt* Twitter needs 14.5 million subscribers to Blue.
To make up their ad revenue they need 53.1 million.
So, in total, they need 67.6 million subscribers. Basically, to be as popular a paid service as YouTube, who is 10x larger.
