But there are - of course - many more ways of saying "Thank You" in Japanese. Some alternatives:

Arigatou (ありがとう) is rather basic

Doumo (どうも) is extremely casual

Sumimasen (すみません) also means "excuse me", but can be use to acknowledge that the other person went through that trouble for doing something for you

Sankyu (サンキュ) is more for youngsters, for it sounds really kewl to add some English to your Japanese... ;-)
