@Zita
Thanks! You too!🫶
@mikako6
We have a related plant here in Virginia called purple deadnettle (Lamium purpureum). It also makes beautiful purple carpets like this.
Yes, That's right!
Purple deadnettle and giraffe-head are very similar, aren't they?
I love dead-nettle too.
In Japanese they are called 'odoriko-so' (meaning: Dancer grass).💜🕺💃😊
Thank you!
@mikako6
Do you know why it's called dancer grass?
I don't know..
If you know it could you please let me know?
@mikako6
I don't know either, but it's a pretty name.
I explained that deadnettle is called "odorikoso" in Japanese, but when I looked it up on google, it is actually a plant called 'hime-odorikoso'.
They bloom in many open spaces around the world. However, I found out that odorikoso is a plant unique to Japan, with much larger flowers, and is a rare wildflower that blooms in mountains and other places.
The name "dancer's grass" comes from its resemblance to the costumes of dancers in the olden days of Japan, as shown in this photo. ha ha!😊
@mikako6
Neat! Are these the flowers?:

Yes, that's exactly it!
They are really lovely flowers!
I would like to see the actual 'odorikoso' someday.😊
