#Japodon A Japanese trivia for those curious about #JapaneseFood. The Japanese, like many other cultures, eat special food to mark the calendar. Below is the Japanese new year cuisine called Osechi お節。In the old days, women cooked all the dishes in advance so that they didn't need to do much cooking during the New Year festivities. So, all the dishes are cooked with lots of sugar & soy sauce or marinated in vinegar. Every dish has a specific cultural meaning--health & longevity, etc.
