"It's not quite the same," Ester admitted as she led Jill out onto the quiet beach. The sun-baked sand was warm beneath her feet; she was glad she'd already kicked off her sandals.
"It's beautiful," Jill replied. The moon was full and bright and made the sand look nearly white.
They smiled at each other, though Ester's smile was wider. Jill still tried to hide her fangs even when they were alone.
"Probably don't need to dig out the suntan lotion..." Ester laughed. So many things had changed...
"No." Jill smiled, wider. "It tastes terrible."
