It is important to note that #Misskey (1.4m users) does not report active users. Thus, its substantial growth is not reflected in # of active users. WordPress also does not report active users and it seems to have stopped reporting the total # of users, too (# of users dropped by 70k).
Furthermore, data are cleaned from the #Mastodon instance daystorm netz org (reporting 254k active users), because it does not seem to have actual users. @thefederation

According to the stat page ( https://misskey.io/about ) of Misskey.io, the largest instance of Misskeys, shows spectacular growth of active users. But rapid increasing makes lazy response and delay to send notification emails, reportedly by the official ( @AureoleArk ). [参照]
