I read a picture book reading at elementary school today. The book was How Rabbit Stole The Fire by Joanna Troughton, translated by Fumio Yamaguchi.
The story is based on the myth of indigenous people of the turtle island.
In the past, the fire was occupied by the humans living on a mountain, and animals desired to bring it to the chilly land.
One winter, a rabbit went there, stole it…
Troughton wrote well. I only read along, and it let the child get thrilled.
