I’ve had Cookie in my life for almost exactly 14.5 years. I got her when she was 3 months old. She’s existed with me in Petaling Jaya, where she was born, to Singapore, where I was born, to Helsinki, where we hung out with Estonian dogs and went mushroom picking while awaiting visas and flights, to San Francisco, where she lives a comfortable and charmed senior dog life.

I’m mindful I don’t have much more time with her. I’m determined to spend all of it with her.
