Using a radio beacon, Yle found out how expensive cars are exported from #Finland to #Russia for sale. Illegal exports violate economic sanctions imposed by the EU.

It turns out that Finland is an important transit country in international car smuggling.

Vehicles on which we have installed radio beacons can officially travel to Central Asia. Transporting cars through Russian territory, for example, to #Kazakhstan, is legal, but leaving them in Russia is prohibited.
