i remember being so excited to get the special limited edition of half life 2 for my birthday
it was a couple of months after launch but since it used steam i couldn't play it without downloading all the patches that had come out in the meantime
since we had dialup internet at home my parents only let me use it for an hour or two a night so patches for the game were coming out faster than i could download them
i was finally able to play the game i got for my birthday a full six months later
